Writing has always been a source of escapism for me; that's a little bit cliche, I'm aware, but I have to be authentic here. TWLU was actually initially the product of the complete opposite approach, as it let me re-assess reality and come to terms with the world around me and the many different life occurrences. In all honesty, TWLU was just a handful of essays that depicted me processing different things, whether it was trauma / grief / vices, etc, and after publishing a few of them, the out-pour of community spirit and people bravely sharing their own insights / stories was so beautiful that I aspired to encapsulate that tangibly within a website.
I'll be honest, the content that I post can get dark fairly fast but I try to give warnings and additional links to support whenever I feel it's necessary. Ultimately, this is a judgement-free sanctuary for those that don't know where to store their pain or what to do with it.
To summarise: I see you, I hear you, I'm so proud of you.
